Chewy Apple Flapjack

Ingredients

75gunsalted butter or margarine
175ggranulated golden sugar
125ggolden syrup
375grolled oats
500gpeeled apples, cored and sliced
4tbspmilk
25gcaster sugar
1/3tspground cinamon
2tbsplemon juice
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C
  2. Melt the butter/margarine in a saucepan with the golden sugar, syrup and milk. Stir in the oats.
  3. Spoon two-thirds of the mixture onto a greased 18cm square tin and bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, place the apples in a saucepan with the caster sugar, ground cinamon and lemon juice and cook until thick and plumpy.
  5. Spread the apples over the cooked oat base, then spread the remaining oat mixture over the top and cook for a further 20 minutes.
  6. Cut into pices and allow to cool.
  7. Serve with some of the summer appledrink.
